How to Read Your Next Date

So you have finally gotten to a point in your life where you want to find that special someone, or maybe you just got through a divorce and are suddenly back in the game, or you might still be married or involved and just have a very hard time understanding your partner. How can you tell if your date is being open to you? How can you make yourself appear more open?
r
rFor thousands of years animals, including humans, have relied on body language to provide valuable information to the instincts, letting them know immediately whether they are facing friend of foe, whether they need to fight or flee. While most people have great control over their words, few are equally in control of their body language and micro-expressions (the little movements in the face and eyes which provide insight into a person’s thoughts or feelings). Before I get too much into this I must caveat: no single expression in body language means unequivocally one thing, rather it is the sum of like actions that you will be looking for. Do not get worked too hard around the axle because you saw one thing that might mean something you do not like.
r
rBody language is the easiest area to read since it relies on large movements of major body parts. Essentially, if the person is open the body is open and if they are closed the body is closed. A few things to look for include:
r
r1) Crossed arms and legs. When people are uncomfortable or unsure they naturally move into a modification of the fetal position. They pull their extremities in close and hunch slightly, leaning away.
r
rWhether this is because they are uncomfortable in the setting or uncomfortable with you will take some determination. If it happened immediately after you said or did something, it’s a pretty safe bet it’s you. Try backing off slightly; opening up your own posture and giving them room to do the same.
r
r2) Open arms, leaning forward. This is the opposite of being crossed and tight. When a person is comfortable and interested, they will lean toward their date, possibly even seeking little opportunities to touch your arm or leg and sidle closer.
r
rThis is what you are looking for, when you see it try to slightly mimic their actions. Do not do everything exactly like they do, but some slight mimicry tells their subconscious that you are like-minded with them and that you are a friend.
r
r3) Fidgeting. Some people are just naturally nervous, especially on first dates. We all recognize the meaning of fidgeting, but you might not know how to help ease your date.
r
rFirst, do not call attention to whatever they are doing; this only makes them more uncomfortable. Instead change the topic of discussion, probing for something that that they are passionate about, something that they will get excited about. Open up but let them keep their space until they loosen.
r
rMicro-expressions are much more difficult to detect, but are more telling. We rely extensively on what a person’s face is telling us because those motions are naturally more difficult to control. The same basic principles of open and closed apply. More importantly, however, you are looking for tense or strained muscles. A few specific things to look for here:
r
r1) Closed expression. When a person is uncomfortable, many of the muscle groups in their face tense up. The cheek muscles will stand out slightly, the muscles around the eyes will pull inward, and their eyebrows will pull down. They may try to fake a more open expression, smiling with their lips but not with their eyes as we say. When faking an open expression, the muscles just strain harder. In a faked smile the teeth will generally remain together, perhaps clenching.
r
rIf your date is maintaining a closed expression, focus on your own. We mimic facial expressions quicker than body language movements, so try to maintain a loose openness in your own face despite what your date is doing.
r
r2) Open expression. Think Santa Claus and you have an open expression. When the muscles relax around the mouth and eyes you know they are not feeling threatened or uncomfortable. No matter the emotion that is being exhibited on the face – happiness, sadness, anger, etc. – the muscles will be relaxed in the face if they are being open and wearing their true emotion. The cheek muscles slacken, the eyes muscles relax, and the teeth come apart.
rTo keep your date open just keep your own face open, again applying some slight mimicry here. You don’t have to make an effort to turn sadness into happiness; you simply have to focus on getting them into this open state where whatever e

Coping With Anxiety – black leather bag

Nervousness is actually a normal mechanism of our body. It is a warning sign when one’s life is in danger. However, this feeling can actually get serious if it is highly intense and frequent. This kind of nervousness can already be characterized as Anxiety. In this article, I’ll be sharing my own experience about coping with anxiety.

It was around my teens when I noticed that I easily feel nervous and panicked. I thought it was just my default and I have nothing to worry about. Until, I was in college when I first experienced a Panic Attack. At first I was nervous, then, I have hard time breathing, I have palpitations and I kind of feel dizzy. I was overwhelmed with the situation that it made my symptoms more intense.

There, I was told that what I just had was panic attack. My doctor told me to relax and not worry about anything. Actually, it was hard to feel relaxed at the midst of the physical symptoms of my episode. I was given a medication to relax me. After a few minutes, my breathing went back to normal and the remaining symptoms subsided too.

I was not given any medication yet, the doctor recommended me to another expert. I learned more about my case when I visited a psychologist. It was difficult at first to accept that what I have is classified as a disorder.

According to the DSM or Diagnostic Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders, these are the usual symptoms of panic attacks: accelerated heart rate, profuse sweating, shaking or trembling, shortness of breath, feeling of choking, chest pain, nausea, feeling of light headed, derealisation and depersonalization.

Most of the time, the attack is consisted of combination of the mentioned symptoms. Also, as the attack progresses the symptoms also intensifies. It may start with shortness of breath that eventually affects other parts of your body. Hence, it is best to focus on your breathing to cease other symptoms from surfacing.

From the American Psychological Association or APA, an episode usually lasts for thirty minutes or less. On the other hand, anxiety can also be as short as 15 seconds. There are also cases where in episodes go in a cyclic series, lasting for a longer period, sometimes even hours.

As I have mentioned awhile ago, the popular first aid for your attack is to focus on your breathing. What you should do is to normalize your breathing. To do this, you may use your cupped hands to cover your nose and mouth. Then, breathe-in and breathe-out through until you feel that you are breathing normal again. You don’t get the full gist of it in the beginning of the relationship. And as far as your significant other is concerned you are not supposed to. If you did than the chances of you still being in the relationship would drop considerably.

So they went about sweeping you off of your feet and did their best to hide their true nature. It worked because you fell in love with them and decided to make a go of things.

But you cannot shake the thought that everything is not what it appears and that includes your significant other. At times you can feel the tension but you are hard pressed to explain why it hangs in the air.

Are you in an abusive relationship but just don’t know it yet? There are signs that may be pointing in that direction.

1. Their Rage

We all get angry but when you significant other loses it they really lose it. There are periods during their ranting and raving where they seem totally out of control. Besides what they wind up getting angry about is so trivial in nature that you have a hard time comprehending why something like that would them off.

2. Post Rage

Your significant other has cooled off. Everything appears to be back to normal but you can tell from their body language they are still peeved. I am a student of Daeil Foreign Language High School and I would like to give you few tips of getting into a Korean foreign language high school. But before that, you need to know what a foreign language high school is. It is a school built with the purpose to educate students who are talented in using foreign languages. However, this original purpose has been forgotten and schools favor students who can go to good university than those who are good at foreign languages. This is a key to get into these schools. Although you may not be good at English or other languages, there is nothing to worry about if you have good GPA in middle school and get high scores from entrance test.

1. Schools

- (In Seoul) Daeil, Daewon, Hanyoung, Myungduk, Gyunggi, Seoul

2. Types of Departments

-English, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, Russian

3. Existence of Dormitory

-Depends on schools (There is one at my school)

1. Schools require English skills, but not to the intense level

-Although you may think students who go to these schools speak English fluently, that is not true. The only English skill you need is listening. There is a listening section in the entrance test and you need to prepare for it and get a good score. Schools do NOT look for your overall English skills, but your English listening skills.

2. Maintain good GPA

-It depends on schools and time. I got into my school with just okay GPA (I was around 100 out of 450). However, these days, schools demand higher GPA and importance of proficiency of foreign language has decreased. Since there are many applicants who get similar grades, GPA can be a factor.

3. STUDY MATH!

-Really, just study math. Many students have a hard time with math in their senior year. They say that if they had a time machine, they would go back to their first year and solve five questions everyday. Math is important because math questions on Korean SAT are hard. These high schools want those who can get high Korean SAT scores and go to good universities.
