The official schedule can be found at: http://collegeboard.com/student/testing/ap/cal.html.
Please also check for additional guidelines: http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/ap/exday.html.
You should bring the following items to the exam:
A. Several sharpened No. 2 or HB Pencils with erasers for all multiple-choice answer sheets. Mechanical pencils may puncture holes, I recommend not using them.
B. Pens with black or dark blue ink for completing areas on the exam booklet covers and for free-response questions in most exams.
C. A watch (in case your exam room does not have a clock that you can see easily)
D. A calculator with the necessary capabilities if you’re taking an AP Calculus, Chemistry, Physics, or Statistics Exam. Visit www.collegeboard.com/apstudents to learn more about the calculator policy for each of these exams, and for a list of authorized calculators.
E. A ruler or straightedge if you’re taking an AP Physics Exam.
F. A valid passport is best, but a National ID card will suffice.
Please take this seriously: you should not bring the following to the school:
A. Cellular phones, pagers, MP3 players or personal digital assistants (PDAs) – Security is a major issue with this exam, please do not bring these.
B. Books, compasses, correction fluid, dictionaries, highlighters, or notes. Please leave all of these items at home.
C. Rulers and straightedges (except as noted above).
D. Scratch paper (notes can be made on portions of the exam booklets).
E. Computers or calculators (except as noted above).
F. Watches that beep or have an alarm
G. Portable listening or recording devices (even with headphones) or photographic equipment.
H. Food or drink
I. Clothing with subject-related information
You are required to arrive no later than 30 minutes prior to your exam: 7:30 a.m. for the morning administration; 11:30 a.m. for the afternoon administration. Students may not be dismissed until an exam has officially ended. Do not ask to leave early if you finish before the end of the test, as your request will be denied. The exams take approximately four and four and half hours, but the Physics C exams take about two to two and half. If you play a sport or have a job, it will be your responsibility to inform your coach, school, or employer of your AP obligation and arrangements should be made accordingly.
Get a good night’s rest before your test and eat a nutritious breakfast. You are allowed to bring a snack and beverage for your 10-minute break. However, eating is prohibited while you are taking an exam. It is advisable to bring a sweater, in case the room this will emperature is below your comfort level.
You are required to abide by the policies of both the College Board and Daeil Foreign Language High School during the exam period. Any misconduct will be reported and could jeopardize your AP Exam grade.
If you decide not to take an exam, please inform me by April 27, 2007. You must submit a refund request in writing in order to receive the partial payment of 55,000 won per exam. Please include your home address with your request. A deposit will be made in early June. If you do not tell me by April 27, 2007 you forfeit your refund.
Be sure to review the Bulletin for AP Students and Parents found here: http://apcentral.collegeboard.com/apc/members/repository/ap06_bulletin_parstud_0607.pdf
If you have any questions in regards about the AP exams please contact the College Board. If you have specific questions about Daeil being a test center, registration, and/or payment please feel free to contact me. In the case that you do need to contact me, please contact me yourself (not your parents, private institute instructors, consultants, etc…) and communicate with me in English.
Good luck!
Paul Kang, AP Coordinator
