The region features sharp difference to the other region trekking in Nepal. Langtang region, combination of three large administrative districts lies north of Kathmandu and is area known for easy access, if not by flights, the local buses and taxis. The pin point attractions of the region is the mountains ranges to north and the holy lakes to south including beautiful Sherpa village on trailhead. The green lush valley on the foot hills of the mountain and the high altitude jungle presents bio-diverse environment where rare species of orchids and herbal vegetation are flourished. The holy lake Gosaikunda is one of the famous for Pilgrimage tour to Hindus.

A sandwiched valley (known as well developed beautiful Langtang valley) between the main Himalayan ranges to the north and lower range of snowy peaks to the south, is the beautiful scenic valley. Mountain Lirung (7246m) appears to the north of the valley and where Gang Chhempo (6388m) and Naya Kangri (5846m) to the south and Dorje Lakpa (6966m) guards the valley to the east. Syabrubessi, a touristic trade center for trailhead to langtang valley is well facilitated with hotels, lodges and restaurants along sides of the trekking trail.
Langtang National Park which extends up to Nepal – China border has been the safe home to the numbers of rare species of orchids and animals. Himalayan tahr, musk deer, snow-leopard, Tibetan snow cock and partridge, kalij, impeyan pheasants, larch etc. are making their nest on this national park and have been attracting the visitors to the region.

No special trekking permit is needed to trek the region. As National Park entrance fees, Rs 100/- for SAARC National and Rs 1000/- for foreigner other than SAARC nationals are subjected to pay. Children below 10 years are freware of entrance charge.
As Annapurna and Everest region, Langtang is also well facilitated with hotels and lodges.

Access to the langtang it doesn’t have any reliable flight. Either catching the local buses to its best or chartering the cars or required vehicle is the best way. Public buses reach Dhunche through Trishuli Bazaar from Kathmandu and it takes about 8-9 hours. The alternative routes from Kathmandu are by public bus to Sundarijal or Melamchighat. From either point, the trekker is supposed to cross Ganja La pass (5122 m) to reach Langtang Valley.
